WTCA’s Gallery 209 presents
“I Before E”
Featuring new works by Jason Fondren, Rich Frederick, Jon Rodriguez, Trinity Rivard
That reference to the grade school English class rhyme, the foundation of our language. This relates to the show in that the 4 artists are all painters whose varying styles imply the foundation of our visual language, adhering to certain “rules” within their discipline.
“I Before E” is interpreted through the notion that art is essentially a means of communicating the human experience. It is through art that we hold a mirror to society as seen through the artist’s eyes. The “I” comes to stand for the artist and the “E” for everyone else. Though at first it may seem self-absorbed, it actually refers to the process of turning inward to be able to process the world and ultimately communicate it visually for others. Though the 4 artists are so different in style, they go through the same process and are trying to achieve the same thing.
Please join us in WTCA’s 2nd floor Gallery 209 for an evening of innovative art, meeting the artists, music, appetizers, donation bar, and the undeniable ambiance of community and our beloved cigar factory. Free and open to the public, but a small donation of $3 is accepted and greatly appreciated. All are welcome to come share a piece of local history and wonderful art work by 4 talented local artists.
